Happy Birthday, America! | A Mini-Vacay

We were able to get out of work early yesterday and get our 5-hour drive started by 2:15. So at about 7:00 we bombed into my parents, scarfed some food, carried down the cooler, and squeezed in a beautiful evening on the boat. The boys wakeboarded and surfed and the girls? Well, we just go along for the ride. We like to call ourselves boat candy :)

We went to bed with the windows open and fell asleep listening to the breeze rustling through the oak tree leaves. Oh, and there was that boat partying on the lake and rocking out to Shania Twain, The Backstreet Boys, and any other hit from the 90s that added to the nighttime noises as well.

And we still get 4.more.days. of this. We'll be spending today and the weekend at the lake, hanging out with both of our families, and basically enjoying a mini-vacay - no schedule, no plans, and no to-dos. Well, except that right now I really just need to go pour myself a cup of coffee.

I might be back with a post Monday, or else it might be Tuesday. I'm just going to go with the flow and see where the sunshine, homemade margs, and country music take me.

What are your plans for the fourth?!
