How-To: Stay Relaxed during the Holiday Season

Hey hey friends. Is it already Wednesday?! Man alive, I have a feeling this week is going to be over before I even unpack my bag from the weekend or decide which bottle of wine I should start with enjoy this week. Kidding. Sort of. BUT, according to Jessa, there is nothing wine hasn't solved before. And that, is why she's my friend. 

So while I'm still getting my poop in a group (I'm sorry. I know. That's such a gross phrase but my husband says it so it gets stuck in my head I guess.) after my unfortunate events lately, Jessa's going to pop in on my blog today and share some of her tips + tricks for staying cool and collected during the chaotic Holiday season...

Hi y'all!! I'm Jessa from Life of a Sports Wife. My blog is a lifestyle blog where I occasionally write about sports, but mostly my family, DIY crafts, fitness; really whatever motivates me and inspires me to write.

Lately I've noticed that all of us bloggers have been feeling kinda blah. I don't know what it is -- is it the weather changing and getting cold or is it the stress of the holidays? Either way, with the holidays right around the corner it is so easy to get wrapped up in the holidays and just get burned out. I know that I am there right now. How do I balance everything AND still get holiday shopping done?!? There is always so much to do and people to see. Sometimes it is best to just way away and regroup.

These are the things that I do:

Go for a walk:
First of all, it's good for you; but there is something about fresh air that makes you feel better. My husband and I try to go for a walk every night. Usually it's just around our apartment complex but a walk is a walk. 

Read a book:
I love reading!! I have AT LEAST 3 books on my nook that I still need to finish, but I read a lot of books. It calms me down after a long day. Also it gives me time to not really think about anything! Some of my favorite books: The Diary of Anne Frank, The Devil Wears Prada, and anything by Emily Giffin. 
Watch tv:
I probably watch way too much tv, but sometimes it is good to chill on the couch and relax. Bravo is my go-to station, besides ESPN. My guilty pleasure is Real Housewives of Anything but I really love Atlanta. Yes, I realize that it is probably scripted but it's still good!! Plus, their "drama" is nowhere near my drama. 
Craft time:
This could be a variety of things, but I prefer to knit and crochet. It is very relaxing for me and I love making things for other people to enjoy. 
Retail therapy:
Sometimes you just need to go shopping!! Or even just window shopping. 
Wine:
There is nothing wine hasn't solved before.
